SHEBA Website Redesign Case Study

Homepage design for the Sheba NGO website with a clean, accessible, and responsive layout

Introduction

The SHEBA Website Redesign focused on creating a clear, accessible and purpose-driven digital platform for an NGO supporting healthcare and community development in Bangladesh. SHEBA works to improve healthcare access for underserved and rural communities through health centres, mobile clinics, outreach programs and other community-focused initiatives. With its work reaching people in areas where access to essential services can be limited, the organisation needed a website that could clearly communicate its mission, programs and impact.

NAFCORP approached the project with a focus on accessibility, trust, storytelling and simple navigation. The goal was to create a website that helps visitors understand SHEBA’s work while making it easier to explore programs, learn about community initiatives and support the organisation.

Project Scope and Goals

The SHEBA website needed to serve different audiences, including supporters, donors, partners and people interested in learning more about the organisation’s work. Rather than simply presenting information about the NGO, the website needed to connect SHEBA’s mission with the real programs being delivered in communities. The project focused on:

  • Creating a modern and professional NGO website.

  • Improving the organisation and presentation of information.

  • Making healthcare and community programs easier to discover.

  • Strengthening the connection between donations and community impact.

  • Improving navigation across important pages.

  • Creating a responsive experience across desktop, tablet and mobile.

  • Providing a scalable structure for future programs, stories and organisational updates.

Business Challenges

For an NGO such as SHEBA, a website plays an important role in communicating credibility, transparency and community impact. One of the main challenges was presenting the relationship between financial support and the work taking place within communities. Visitors needed to understand how contributions can support initiatives such as healthcare outreach, boat clinics, cataract surgery programs and other services.

The website therefore needed to communicate detailed information without creating an overwhelming experience. Another challenge was balancing emotional storytelling with practical information. Visitors should be able to understand SHEBA’s purpose while also finding specific programs, activities and ways to engage with the organisation.

NAFCORP's Website Redesign Approach

For the SHEBA Website Redesign, NAFCORP created a structured digital experience centred around the organisation’s mission and community programs. Content was organised into clear sections so visitors could move naturally from understanding SHEBA to exploring its programs and learning more about its impact.

Visual hierarchy was also an important part of the redesign. Headings, imagery, supporting content and calls to action were structured to make important information easier to identify and understand. Instead of treating every piece of information equally, the redesigned experience gives greater prominence to SHEBA’s mission, healthcare initiatives and community impact.

Clearer Program and Impact Presentation

SHEBA operates across different healthcare and community initiatives, so the website needed a structure capable of presenting these programs clearly.

The redesigned pages use dedicated content areas to explain key initiatives and help visitors understand their purpose. This creates a clearer connection between the organisation’s broader mission and the individual programs delivering support within communities. Impact-focused content and imagery also help communicate SHEBA’s work visually, giving visitors additional context beyond written descriptions.

User Experience and Navigation

Simple navigation was particularly important because an NGO website can attract visitors with very different goals. Some may want to understand the organisation, while others may be interested in healthcare programs, community projects, impact stories or opportunities to provide support.

The redesigned navigation and page structure help users move between these areas without having to search through large amounts of content. Clear page hierarchy, consistent layouts and strategically positioned calls to action provide visitors with logical next steps throughout their journey.

Responsive NGO Website Design

The SHEBA website was designed to provide a consistent experience across desktop, tablet and mobile devices. Responsive layouts ensure that content, imagery, navigation and calls to action remain easy to access across different screen sizes. This was particularly important for creating an accessible digital experience that allows visitors to learn about SHEBA’s work regardless of the device they use.

The Result

The completed SHEBA Website Redesign provides the organisation with a clearer, more structured and user-friendly digital presence. SHEBA can now present its healthcare programs, community initiatives and organisational mission through a website designed around accessibility and straightforward information discovery.

The project created a stronger foundation for communicating SHEBA’s work online while providing room for the organisation to continue expanding its programs, stories and digital content as its community initiatives develop.
