Maintenance starts with understanding the platform, hosting, dependencies and access available. For WordPress, this may include core, theme and plugin updates, compatibility checks and a recovery plan.

Custom websites may need dependency updates, build checks, application fixes and deployment support. We agree which systems are covered and how changes are approved before work begins.

An agreed arrangement can include checking security alerts, reviewing supported software versions and verifying that backups are scheduled and recoverable. Backup frequency, retention, storage and restoration responsibilities must be documented.

Monitoring helps identify issues; it does not guarantee a site cannot be compromised. Incident response, malware removal and emergency restoration are separately scoped unless explicitly included.

We can review crawlability, metadata, canonical URLs, sitemap coverage, redirects and broken links as the site changes. Content and structural updates should retain useful existing URLs and avoid accidental noindex settings.

Search Console access, when available, helps identify indexing and page experience issues. Maintenance supports a healthy website; it does not guarantee a search position.

We investigate large images, unnecessary scripts, font loading, layout shifts and slow interactions. Recommendations are based on the page, device and available performance evidence.

Lab testing helps diagnose problems. Field Core Web Vitals reflect real visitor experiences over time, so a single test score is not a guarantee of ongoing performance.

Where included, availability monitoring can alert the nominated contact when a site or important endpoint fails. Alert routing, monitoring frequency and response arrangements are agreed in writing.

Troubleshooting may cover broken layouts, contact form failures, plugin conflicts, application errors and integration failures. We assess access and the cause before quoting work outside the support scope.

A maintenance relationship can also support content edits, new sections, accessibility fixes and usability improvements. Larger features or integrations should have their own requirements and acceptance criteria.

We prioritise agreed work so routine updates, corrective fixes and new development do not compete without a clear decision.

Your quote should state covered websites and environments, included tasks, response arrangements, approval process and any support allowance. Hosting, licences, third-party charges and out-of-hours work are not assumed to be included.

We review existing access, backups and technical condition before confirming a maintenance arrangement. If an issue requires work outside scope, we explain the next step and obtain agreement.
